CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
People often ask 'what is craniosacral therapy?' I describe it as a very light touch, non-invasive form of body therapy or healing.
If you were to watch someone receiving a treatment it might look as if very little is happening. Yet patients often describe feeling more warmth, space or inner calmness. Some patients might experience a deep relaxation, others may become very aware of areas of their body changing or sensations coming and going as their body's innate healing starts to work.

Our nervous systems can often feel out of alignment...many of us might not even realise this during busy lives, but we become aware of it during stressful periods or times when it's difficult to sleep or cope. Craniosacral therapy can help us re-align and access a more balanced state, allowing us to process events, grief, accidents, illnesses and find space to get back on track without feeling so overwhelmed.

We work closely with the tides and rhythms of the body during a session, allowing the body to heal itself whilst in a therapeutic connection. There are often layers to work through from recent events to blocks and traumas that might've occured years ago. Whatever the cause, craniosacral therapy can help by releasing blocks, resistance and stagnation in the tissues and allowing a freeing up of movement and flow. This can manifest by feeling lighter and clearer in body, mind and soul.

Craniosacral therapy forms the heart of my practice and patients often report feeling more themselves or returning to an inner calm that they know is fundamentally within them but can be difficult to find at times. Physical aches and pains can ease.
Patients lie fully clothed on the treatment couch and a light touch is often applied to the feet, lower back or head, but also to shoulders, hips or areas of pain. By working on one area the whole body is simultaneously worked on through the connective tissue or fascia. The treatment is suitable for any age group; from babies, children and teenagers to adults including the elderly.
